Silverspoons (Part 4-short story) fiction

"This is all that was in the box Harry?"
"Yep!, do you really need more?" "I suppose
not Harry." "I need to know who's prints are on
the knife, and the spoon." "You got it."

Harry worked as an all around kind of guy for
Ellie. Part private eye, body guard, best friend.
They had known each other since she was a child.
Harry and her father had gone to school together.
Ellie's father was killed in a car accident when she
was fifteen. Harry never married and found himself
quite comfortable taking care of Ellie. She's the daughter
he never had.

"I'm starting to think that there's more than one way to skin
a cat..." "My thoughts exactly Ellie, but can you prove it?"
"I'm certainly going to try Harry." "You kind of like this guy
don't you honey?" "Oh Harry, I don't know him well."
"Your talking to me honey, I don't know anyone well, but
I know where I'm suppose to be." "My heart tells me
what I don't know, look at us!" "You prove this guy clean,
and take it from there." "Don't close yourself off honey."
"Oh Harry, who will take care of you?" "Don't even try to
be funny with me sweetheart, You know I do just fine."
"And besides, I know you'll always be there."
"Always Harry."

Silverspoons (Part 4-Short story) Fiction

As Ellie looked through the contents of the
envelope, Clayton stared through with impatient
eyes and bated breath.
"What is in there Ellie?" "Well for starters Clayton,
apparently, you wrote a letter to Melissa," "and not
a I miss you letter."
"What's that suppose to mean?, let me see it."
" I'll hold it, said Ellie." "Is this your handwriting Clayton?"
"It looks like it, but I never wrote Melissa any letters."
"We talked all the time on the phone, or we met in
person." "Why would I need to write any letters?"
"Let me read this."
"What the hell! Ellie, I swear I did not say any of this."
"Melissa and I were best of friends, as well as brother
and sister."
This letter is stating that you threatened Melissa with
her life, if she didn't stop seeing Troy Baxter.
"That's not true!" "I wanted her to stop seeing him, but
I never threatened her for any reason, why would I?"
"Someone is definitely trying to frame me Ellie."
"Well Clayton, looks like you've got yourself a lawyer."

"Other contents include: a safe deposit key, or bus terminal,
a silver spoon with your initials engraved, and did I mention
that there's blood on it?"
"Ellie, I don't know what the hell is going on here, but I
swear I didn't do this." "You've got to believe me Ellie."
"Clayton slow down, let's compile the evidence first."
"I'll get my guy to check out this key and it's contents."
"We've got to get this to the police, but sit tight, and don't
say anything to anybody OK?"
"OK Ellie."

Silverspoons (Part 3-Fiction)

"Hi Ellie, I'm sorry for running a bit late."
"I just got here myself Clayton, no problem."
"Thank you so much for meeting me." "As you
know, I was a bit crazed when I called."
"What's going on Clayton?" "Well, first of all,
here's one dollar." "I have now officially hired you
as my attorney." "Clayton, it doesn't really work that
way." "Well for now, it's that client attorney privilege
thing." "Okay Clayton, what the hell is going on?"

"Melissa's ex-boyfriend Troy Baxter came to see me."
"I had suspected that he was behind Melissa's death."
"But the cops said he had an alibi." "Why is he
contacting you now?" "I think it has to do with
the new girl that was found dead." "I think he is
trying to frame me again." "Again?, you think he
tried to frame you before?" "Yes, he brought me this
envelope." "I haven't opened it yet." "Well let's see
Clayton, give it here." "Shouldn't we have checked
for finger prints or something?" "Clayton you watch
too much television." "I won't handle anything inside
with my bare hands." "I'm surprised you didn't go for
it." "I thought it wise to wait for you, seems I need to
be extra careful now."
"Oh my God Clayton, you are going to need me as your
attorney."

Silverspoons (Part 3-Fiction)

"Ellie, Clayton Thornhart here." "Listen,
I really need to speak with you right away."
"Clayton, well hello to you too." "I'm sorry
Ellie, I just had a scene in my office with one
of Melissa's ex's." "That's why I need to talk
to you." "Melissa? I presume we're talking
about your sister?" "Yes, of course, I know I
should start over." "Can I explain it all when
we meet?" "Sure Clayton, when is good for
you?" "How's 1:00 at the Metro Cafe?, "have
you've eaten lunch yet?" "No, I'll be there, bye
Clayton."

Clayton was not sure of anything at this point.
He had'nt even opened the envelope yet. He
almost did, but was so agitated with Troy that
he had thrown it across the room. Just as well,
because it had given him time to think. He should
wait and open it in front of Ellie. Not that he had to,
but it seemed like a good idea. He knew now
with certainty, that he would need to hire Ellie
for his attorney. He also knew that the cops
were'nt far behind in office storming. Thanks to
whatever Troy was up to. What if Troy killed this
new women too. He's going to try and make me
take the fall for this murder. The cops couldn't prove
anything with Melissa's murder, so he's making sure they
do with this one...

Silverspoons (Part 3-Fiction)

"Where is he?" yelled Troy Baxter as he
stormed Clayton Thornharts office. I know
he's here. "You can't go in there" stated Maggie,
Clayton's secretary of twelve years. "Don't tell me
what I can't do," "There you are, Mr. Thornhart."
"Well, what a fancy office your money bought you."
"What do you want Troy?" Clayton impatiently
snapped."
"You always make a habit of storming in people's
office's unannounced?" "I should have security throw
you out on your face." "Yeah, but you won't." "Your
just as curious of why I'm here, as I am of you." Troy
aimlessly glared.

"I've hated your guts ever since you started trouble
for Melissa and myself." "She never would have left me."
"Who are you fooling Troy, she was smart enough to do
that on her own."
"You should have been convicted all those years ago."
Clayton yelled out. "Me?, now who's the one fooling
themselves." "You planned Melissa's death for a long time,
in hopes to frame me." "But it back fired didn't it?"
"The police thought it was you all those years ago."

"How did you do it Clayton?" "I gotta give you credit,
it was brilliant." Troy said with wishful admiration
had it been his idea." "That's it!, no more, get out!"

"In due time, my friend, in due time." "I want you to
study what's in this envelope." "I suggest you look
very carefully, and think twice before the cops start
snooping around again." "Get out! now screaming Clayton.
"Don't ever show your face back here again, or I'll..."
"Oh I think you'll be looking for me Clayton, I'm sure
I'll be back." "Bye cutie, Troy snickers in Maggie's
direction.

"Maggie, get Ellie on the phone." a now distraught
Clayton.

My apologies

Sorry folks, I had guests for a few days, and
decided not to get on the computer. I actually
didn't have time to. I apologize for the lack of
commitment to my writing. I know how all of you
missed me...ha ha ha..

I hope that all of you are enjoying my latest story telling.
I'm trying not to bore anyone, but considering it is the
internet, one never knows...just hang in there, if you don't
like this story, maybe the next. But the important
thing is to keep coming back. Eventually, you'll find
something you'll like. And of course, I'll be going
back to my poetry entries soon. So have fun, be
intrigued, pass my blog along, be seeing you on the highway.

Silverspoons (Part 3-Fiction)

Back at the police station, Detective Tony Riles
and Detective Ed Stowe hash out what little evidence
they have. "I don't know Ed, maybe we're chasing
our own tails here" said Tony. "Auh, that's not like you
to give in so early," replied Ed.

Okay, we have another silver spoon left at the scene.
Again no finger prints, wishful thinking. One dead lady,
early twenties. "Hey, she kidda looks like that Melissa
Thornhart chick." "Yeah, I was thinking that myself Ed."
"What if this killer is not the obvious suspect, but connected
to the suspects we have somehow." Not just some random
nut job copying a high profile case.
"Yeah, there was always something odd about the Thornhart
case that stuck in my gut, we just couldn't prove it."
"I know your gonna think I'm crazy, but I'm leaning with that Baxter
dude." said tony. "His reputation is not one of subtle
character." "So your giving up on the Clayton angle," replied
Ed. "No Ed, but I do think there's a connection somehow there.
And we're gonna find out.

Silverspoons- (Part 3 Fiction- Short Story

Clayton had thought the past was resting behind him.
But this new case in question was keeping him awake
at nights. It brought back all the details of Melissa's
case. He knew the police were coming back, he
could feel it in his bones. They always looked at him
as the suspect in his sister's murder.

The police had found the silverspoon and tried to say
that Clayton planted it at the scene as a message
to their parents. As to say; it was all their fault.
They made this happen. Look at all the years of
disappointments and failures. The police have a
tendency to exaggerate. They were just trying to
get me to confess. Confess to a crime I did not
commit.

I know that they want to pin me for this murder, since
they could not make my sister's case stick. All they're
going on is that damn silverspoon again.

Silverspoons (Part 2 Fiction - Short Story

The police had been moving down there
suspect list to Troy Baxter. The ex-boyfriend
to Melissa Thornhart. When Melissa Thornhart
was murdered, a silverspoon of the collection
had been found in Troy's possession. He claimed
that she had given it to him, sort of a private joke.
However, the one at the scene had been wiped clean.
We couldn't prove anything linking him to the crime.
But his track record was not clean as a whistle.

Troy Baxter had a criminal record. We also knew of his
battering to Melissa Thornhart. Though Melissa was unaware,
Clayton had run a check on this guy some years back.
Prior to Melissa's death. Good news he wasn't. He was
one of our suspects then. He didn't have an alibi.

The women that was murdered recently had some
similarities to that case. We don't know if it's the same killer
or a copy cat case. But this time, we're going to catch him.
