Todays thoughts..5-31-08

I'm sure you can relate,
Those times when we get
lost inside ourselves...
The days are long,
the nights are short, the stress is high, the answers fly...

We take things out on the ones we care about the most.

Supply and demand
don't seem to balance.
We can't see clearly,
what lays before our eyes.
Our hearts are heavy, our smiles are gone.

All in the course of a day.
what's wrong?

Strength in believing

Wishing wells were meant for wishing,
but do they all come true...

It's not a game,
this is for keeps,
Our vulnerability,
we care not to share,
Less it makes us weak...

When all else fails,
There's always hope..
All our unanswered prayers.

Wishing wells,
run deep,
Connecting our souls in sleep,
Answers prevail within our dreams,
Allowing us more wishes...

Stowe Vermont Mountain

I found this pond,
the size of a lake,
nestled up high, in a mountain top.

I climbed and I climbed and I climbed,
Although I made many stops along the way,
to breathe and take in the view,
I thought I wasn't going to make it...

Passers by,
On their journey down,
urged me to continue on,
I climbed till I was ready to quit,
2000 feet or more upon this mountain top,
This ice cold pond,
enveloped me.

I swear it could have been a lake,
Was it worth the trip?
yes, as I urged the passers by...

A Season

A single leaf,
Expressing death,
Retires it's change of term...

Finding Revelation

There are times,
when the silence
is louder than the words...

What you hear,
is different from what
you see..

We contemplate,
we weigh through,
We struggle with a word or two..

We close our eyes,
exhale our minds,
hoping to find something new..

But when the silence,
shadows us..
We're far from being through.

M and J

I love you as deep..
as the depths of the sea,
as high as my eye can see,

My sugar plum,
and shortcake,
Prevail your innocence with glee..

How you steal my heart,
when you look at me,
That life that you bring,
overwhelms ..
of once I only dreamed...

When age took a better part of me,
bestowed upon an honor,
I cannot believe..
How precious you are to me.

Opening your heart

Love can be a paragon
of illusion,

A barricaded wall
of intrusion,

A tight rope of indurance,

An emotion one
nourishes with experience,

A period of trial and error,

Love can be a bond,
if we let it be...

Survival

Within your eyes,
I sometimes see,
The pain and the hurt,
the emotional defeat..

Straining to keep,
the tears from falling,
you choose not to speak.

You radiate a special strength,
a strength one endures from deep
within the soul.

When darkness is the only light
your sight can see,
When silence echos across the walls,
from which your heart has fallen from.

Redeemed by lessons

Our emotions carry us,
through our lives,
to see stars
and cloudy skies.

To embrace the world,
with fruitful hopes,
and desires beyond our wildest dreams..

Only to learn our wishes well,
Behold the anticipation..

For expectations ceased the battle,
We struggled to build so high.

Morning Rise

One dew drop,
resting on the petal
of a fragrant rose.

Captured by,
the morning rays,
Subtly displaying
it's beauty.

Standing tall,
alone, but proud,
it waves in the gentle breeze.

Today's thought

Today I read this article in the news about the
women who was held captive by her father for
24 years...
I am astonished! yet not suprised,
think about how often this sort of thing must be going on.
Could be your neighbor's house next door.
I mean really! Like the article said, what the hell is going on out there?
Like most crime, we don't hear about it all.
We're not getting any better, we're getting worst..
Here we are, our country at war, our friends, brothers and sisters, husbands and wives
putting their lives on the line to save our asses, and this is how we repay them.
This is what their standing up for?
This is our country? Isn't it our turn to make them proud?
Let them know they're not putting their lives on the line for nothing.

I realize this is one issue at hand, but when you look at the whole picture,
and all the crime that is going on right here under everyone's noses,
It's scary...it's unthinkable, it's very real!

I write my words in this blog to help heal, to comfort,
to inspire, to give hope, to laugh, to love.
But my words are executed in silence when I read these happenings around the world.
When do we wake up?

Standing Up To The Plate

While in the midst of lighten sparks
above me,
Sounds of thunder crumbling, rolling down to die,
Hoping to see only replicas of me,
I watch through horrified disembodied eyes.

The long barrels cramp my hands,
Dare I not let go..
Nights befall me, days unfold,
but we're stuck here all about us,
Crimson and gold.

Was it our hearts that you broke,
Or our soles that you stole,
When you sent us here to restore,
Our duty stands before.

We pray for the crying,
The young and the old,
Yours, theirs, and mine,
All of us, just want to come home.

Traces

It was Autumn...
as I recall,
The cool brisk breeze that brushed by me saying hello,
How intimate the impression,
it left within me,
as I stood shaking repeatedly back hello.

I was invited into this enchanted world,
Amazed at the height,
the ceiling rose,
painted hues of brilliant blues.
Many pillars stood around tall,
supporting colors of browns and greens,
Colors that represent soldiers,
of nature's common nationality.

The music came from all around,
Birds singing their symphony,
Everyone had their role,
and timed it perfectly...
Acoustics I hadn't known.

I am blessed,
and I am strong,
for being able to share this ground.
