Not all the time are we joined
by family members
whether close by or far away...
for whatever the reason
keeping them close in heart

is all we have
when it seems we have nothing
at all...

what a shame to have lived so long
and have learned nothing
to grow further apart
by less in numbers...
to have pride and less a memory
to have suffered
shared and alone...
to remain apart by choice
taken for granted the privilege...

I am here in spirit

to share cheer of your life!
to say thank you for being here...

Though many I do not know,
and many I will never know,
comforts me in knowing
there's always someone
in wait of continuing
to carry on...

For what I can not see now,
For all that I have fought for
For all of those who shared
a tear or two
for our lost ones...

But most certainly
I am here to say thank you...
and will say hello when life passes on.
