Silverspoons (Part2 - Fiction Short Story)

Clayton arrived home about 11:30 that evening.
He couldn't get Ellie Sinclair off his mind.
She was different from the usual sort of women
he went out with. He knew he was very attracted
to her. As Clayton prepared to retire for the evening,
his thoughts kept drifting to Ellie. He imagined
what her lips tasted like, what they would feel like
against his own. Her long legs slender and smooth
to the touch. He knew he would dream of her tonight.
As if all one thought, he jumped into bed and switched
off the lights.

Ellie arrived at work early as usual. She owned her
own private attorney practice. Ellie Nelson, her reputation
was well known around town. She would take on cases
that others felt were losers. It was quiet so far, no cases
she had to worry about for the moment. Clayton was on her
mind. She didn't know quite what to make of him. He was
gorgeous, as the rumors had implied. He kept her attention
all evening. Which for Ellie these days, was a rare occurance.
She was not sure having these feelings about him was a good
idea. After all, she may be his attorney in the near future.
It definitely would be an intricate case for sure.
She wanted to know more about Clayton. She knew she had
to see him again, and not necessarily for business.

Silverspoons (Part 2 Fiction - Short Story)

"O.k. still, what is it you want with me?"
"I want to hire your services Ellie."
"You don't have any grounds for a case here
Clayton, it's all routine work that's all."
"Ellie it does not feel right, something is
not right. "Will you at least consider helping me?"
"Clayton, you keep me informed of the situation,
and if anything comes about, we'll talk then."
"That's the best I can offer you under the circumstances."

"That sounds great Ellie, I thank you for your time
and delightful company this evening." "Well, it's not everyday
I conduct business over fine champagne and
such a wonderful dinner." "Can I see you to your car Ellie?"
"No thank you Clayton, I'm parked right out front, but
thank you for a lovely dinner." "Oh but it was my pleasure Ellie,
I will be in touch soon, should something arise."

Silverspoons (Part 2 Fiction - Short Story)

It all happened about sixteen years ago.
I was arrested for murder. The cops said they
had all kinds of evidence against me. My mother
bailed me out. I was never charged or convicted of the
crime.

"Wait one minute here, murder? I dont understand
Clayton, who's murder?" "My sister, Melissa Thornhart.
"Melissa yes, I remember something about that case."
"I didn't kill her, God; she was my sister."
"What do you need me for Clayton?"
"It's the police, do you remember hearing about a
women found out on old mill road?"
"Yes a few weeks ago right.." "Well the police have been
questioning me about that case. Seems they found
a silver spoon at the crime scene, and it had the initials
M.T. engraved on it."
"M.T. could be anyone, sounds like they're just doing a
routine check. "That's what they said, however...
my mother had a set made up for Melissa and myself when
we were born, one for each day of the week." "They
were stolen."

Silverspoons (Part 1 - continued)

I pursued a career in Real Estate, while Melissa went into
Fashion Design. Melissa was not about glitz and glamour, but she
sure could put an outfit together. She was top notch in the field.
You would see her designs plastered all over top magazines.
But to Melissa, it was just another day. Everyone knew her name.

As for the men in her life, there was a lot left to be desired.
Melissa always paid for everything, lavish dinners, champagne,
wild parties. But the men in her life, did not stand proud.
They basked in her spotlight. They turned the tables and felt
good about it. There was this one guy named Troy, Troy Baxter.
I hated how he treated her. No respect at all. He was a leech through
and through. He would smack her around pretty good. For no reason.
Enough that she would have to hide bruises. Melissa had finally dumped
him and stayed busy at work. She started getting phone calls all through
the night. Harassing phone calls, to the point of threatening calls.
I wanted her to call the police, to check this guy out. But Melissa
refused. Melissa would always say, "he is more lonelier than I."

"I'm sure it is only pranks by some kids." That's where Melissa and I
differed. I saw the world for what it really was, and Melissa saw it for
what she wished it could be. That's why she remained so lonely.
She was looking for something that didin't exist. Not in the real world.
I would have thought that Melissa learned that from our parents.
They were perfect examples.

Melissa would say "don't worry Clayton, we are invincible."
"How could anyone hurt us more than what we have already been
through."
"It is not the same Melissa, and you know it." "Oh come on
Clayton, your too serious." "I know, let's go and get a pizza, I know you
want to."
Melissa always knew how to push my buttons. Both good and bad.
How could I resist, Melissa that is. She was one of a kind and
I loved her. That was the last night I saw her...

Silverspoons (Part 1- Fiction- Short Story)

In the beginning, as small children, we were given anything that we wanted.
Anything that would keep us occupied all day. Our parents were very social, just
not with us. I took everything for granted. I didn't have a care in the world. My
sister Melissa was different. I think she felt alone and scared. What she wanted
the most, was my parents love and attention, she could not get. There was no price tag
that came with that. You know what they say; money isn't everything.

Our parents seemed to look right through us. As if we were ornaments that decorated
the halls. They never had time for us. They would ignore our cries at night. The nanny
would comfort us. They always had things to do, places to be, people to see. We
just didn't fit into that agenda. I don't know why they had us, perhaps to complete a picture.

Melissa was about five feet 6 inches tall. She had black hair and always wore it long down
her back. I always thought she had striking features. A long narrow face, with deep blue
piercing eyes. High cheek bones and her lips soft with a natural tone. She had the perfect
figure to anyone's standards. She was a picture perfect women. At least on the outside.

Her and I were very close. When we were kids, you couldn't separate us. As we got older, we made a deal to stay active in each others lives. Not to drift apart. We had contact at least twice
a week. We both decided to leave the estate when we reached our early twenties. Our
parents still feed us an allowance, so to speak, and we take it. That was their only tie to us.
Melissa felt it was their conscious.

My Thanks

Awe, someone came through for me..
My thanks goes out to Jason E.
They're a beautiful flower.
The inside is like a leopard pattern, on a white backround.
There is only one stem that is growing.

Jason, you made my day!
Not just because you knew the name of the flower,
but because even though it was a simple communication,
someone came through.
You took the time and I appreciate it.

It makes what I'm trying to do with this blog,
all worth while.
Have a great day!

will know what these flowers are called.
They are growing in my back yard and I've never seen them before.
So if anyone views my site and they know,
please leave a comment to let me know.

Thanks a bunch!
Talk to you tomorrow...

My Garden

Hey everyone,

Just wanted to share my news of my garden.
You wouldn't believe all the zucchini I've got growing!
And the peppers, awesome! dozens of those...
I am so happy about that, because it was a rough start with the season being
the way that it was.
I've never grown these before.
It's like a little miracle right in front of your eyes...

I know, you think I'm being silly,
it's only veggies. But I think it's this little stuff that we take for granted,
because we can "buy" it in the supermarkets.
Well I'm having fun with it now...
it's like I raised these little guys and their all grown up.
Well, almost. They are only about two inches long.
Ha, Ha, Ha,
Thanks for letting me share.
See you guys tomorrow.

In search of..

If I had my way,
I would seize hold this day,
forever in a wind..
I'd keep calling out to him.

In his eyes,
he lights the sky,
creates the stars, the moon that shines.

He's the calm beneath the willow trees,
the shady breeze,
the fallen leaves...

Without a doubt,
I'd search about,
til he answered me in my dreams.

Inevitable traits

When we are aging,
we lose sight of reality...
Or rather, reality consumes us.

There's no room for bullshit,
we want things solved today,
for tomorrow or the next,
go beyond just another day...

We have no tolerance,
for the incapable,
we strike out,
at the contempible,
we can't stand the pain.

We don't look at the world as,
what's ahead,
we look at the world with
how it's going to end...

We plan for our demise,
we saved for our lives,
we regret sometimes...
now we lie down to die.

Yesterday's gone tomorrow

Long walks into the night,
up above, the stars shine bright.
Indecisive are my moods,
over powering the breeze cuts through...

My mind breaks free,
running this way and that,
searching for the words,
my tongue has since lacked.

For soon the dawn will be upon me,
as if awakening from a nightmare's dream...
A new light to beckon me,
with the sight I needed to see.

Long walks into the night,
once upon a dream.

Time travel

When night falls at it's most quiet point,
the past has then retired.

The air and space stand still,
motionless transmission,
not a sound that we can hear...

It only lasts but a moment,
what seems forever,
awaiting day's gleam.

Past lives, future stars,
seem to disappear,
guiding us through,
one less remembered solitude.

Our calling

The seasons of the heart,
aged like a fine wine,
embracing ones soul with a
gentle warmth.

Through the eyes,
one reads their life,
with subtle hesitation,
as the mind locates the chapter...

A slight shake of the head,
acknowledges the recall...
No more words,
are longer spoken,
Sharpness dulls the pain.

mold to the moments,

Artist's dream

In the eyes of the beholder,
it came to me,
Through a series of paintings,
The artist spoke to me.

Simply, deliberately,
revealing his thoughts...
his passions arose in me.

My senses were alive,
thirsting for the next,
I close my eyes and rest,
my soul has now been quenched.

First year, second year, plus

I'm still trying to put my lawn and garden together.
I bought my house a little over two years ago.
You would never know it.
It takes a lot of time doing it yourself.
There's the planning, design, and the list goes on.
Not to mention the financial investment.
Though it's all worth it, it takes a lot out of you.

I love it when I've accomplished a project.
It is rewarding to drive pass and see what you've done.
But it will be a long while before it's where I want it to be.

I have stumbled upon a few different blogs
that are garden people. Really interesting sites that
should be checked out. Such as Sweet home and Garden Chicago.
Also another is; My Chutney Garden.
Really well done. Helpful tips etc.

So you see, it's well worth the effort to check out other people's blogs.
You never know what you might find.
Even if it doesn't interest you at the moment,
you never know about later...
There's a lot of interesting stuff out there.
Oh yeah..well starting with mine of course.
You have to keep coming back, things are always changing.
See you on my blog!

High prices everywhere

Yikes!
Seriously people, talk about getting burned...
This gas situation is so out of control.
Everywhere, everything has raised prices.
All the everyday things we all need, five dollars or more.

Forget about eating healthy! it cost more to eat healthy,
then to eat fast foods or go out.
Just like the gas, twenty dollars use to fill my tank.
Today, twenty dollars doesn't buy me more than
a bag of lettuce, one tomato, a cucumber, some wraps,
small bag of grapes, cheese.

I saw a guy in the supermarket today,
his basket was more than overflowing, top and bottom.
one small child by his side, and another "newborn" in his arms.
Who knows how many more at home.
Can you imagine that food bill.
Everyone looked on in amazement.
Probably thinking, God bless him, glad it's not me.

It doesn't matter how much money you make, it's the supply and demand
thing.. we just can't keep a good balance.
With these prices, continuing to go up on EVERYTHING!
There will never be a "comfortable" point to be.
So kiss that raise goodbye. Thought you finally had something
extra...ha..
Not going to happen.
